How payments work
Last updated: September 2026
MaktabPro is school-administration software for madrasas. This page explains exactly what we sell, what we charge for, and — just as importantly — what money never passes through us.
What we sell
One thing: a recurring software subscription, priced per school and billed monthly or annually. The plans and prices are published on our pricing page. Outside India, subscriptions are sold by our payment partner Paddle, who acts as the merchant of record and appears on your statement. Inside India, subscriptions are processed by Razorpay. That is the entirety of our commercial relationship with a customer.
MaktabPro is not a payment processor
We are not a payment processor, payment aggregator, payment gateway, payment facilitator or money transmitter, and we are not licensed or holding ourselves out as any of those. We do not hold, pool, escrow or move customer funds or third-party funds, we operate no wallet or balance, and we settle money to nobody.
Tuition fees
Our fee features are record-keeping. A school records what it charges, marks who has paid and who is pending, issues serially numbered receipts, and sends reminders. That is a ledger and a document generator — MaktabPro does not accept tuition payments on a school’s behalf, and no fee money reaches us.
Donations and campaigns
MaktabPro does not collect, solicit, hold or route donations, and no donation can be made to MaktabPro.
Our software lets a school keep its own fundraising records: create a campaign, generate a shareable page for it, and record contributions against the right fund with receipts it can show an auditor. Where a school wants to accept a card or UPI payment on that page, the school connects its own Razorpay merchant account — its own KYC, its own merchant agreement, its own API keys. The payment is created directly on that account and settles to that school’s bank account. We are not a party to it: no funds pass through us, we take no fee or percentage of it, and we have no payout obligation to anyone. A school that has not connected an account simply shows its own bank or UPI details on the page instead.
Campaign pages belong to the school that created them. They are reachable only by a private link, are excluded from search engines, and are not a public fundraising directory hosted by MaktabPro.
Who is responsible for what
A school using MaktabPro is responsible for its own payment arrangements: its agreement with its processor, its tax and regulatory obligations, the accuracy of what it tells its donors and parents, and any refunds it owes them. Our responsibility is the software, and our subscription refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which applies to MaktabPro subscription charges only — never to a fee or donation paid to a school.
Questions
For anything about a subscription charge, email accounts@maktabpro.com. For a fee or donation paid to a madrasa, contact that madrasa directly — we have no access to the transaction and cannot refund it.
