MaktabPro vs ilmify: Which Madrasa Software Fits Your Maktab? (2026)
An honest, feature-by-feature comparison of MaktabPro and ilmify — Hifz tracking, fees, parent access, languages, and real pricing — so you can pick the right madrasa management software.
Last updated 4 June 2026
Both MaktabPro and ilmify are built specifically for madrasas — not generic school tools bent to fit. That already puts them ahead of most options. But they make different trade-offs, and the right choice depends mostly on how big your madrasa is and how much you value simplicity over sheer breadth.
This is an honest comparison. We make MaktabPro, so treat our verdict with that in mind — but every claim about ilmify below comes from their own public website, and we've tried hard to represent their strengths fairly.
Disclosure: This page is published by MaktabPro. Competitor details are taken from ilmify's public website (June 2026) and may change — always confirm current features and pricing directly with each vendor.
The short version
- Choose MaktabPro if you run a small-to-mid madrasa, want a genuinely free starting plan, transparent pricing in rupees, a simple tool teachers learn in minutes, and a built-in public website for your madrasa.
- Choose ilmify if you run a larger institution and want maximum breadth — Tarbiyah and Salah tracking, inventory and transport modules, and interface support across many languages — and you're comfortable with per-student pricing.

¹ Tarbiyah and Salah tracking are on MaktabPro's near-term roadmap and not yet live at the time of writing — we've marked them honestly rather than claiming them. ² ilmify's per-student plans require a minimum of 50 students.
Where ilmify is genuinely stronger
We'd be doing you a disservice to pretend MaktabPro wins on everything. ilmify is a mature, wide product, and three things stand out:
- Tarbiyah and Salah tracking. ilmify lets you monitor character development and daily prayer performance alongside academics. If structured Tarbiyah assessment is central to how you run your madrasa today, ilmify ships it now. (MaktabPro is adding both, but they aren't live yet.)
- Languages. ilmify offers its interface in eight languages — English, Urdu, Arabic, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati and Telugu. MaktabPro is currently English-only. For a staff that isn't comfortable in English, that's a real advantage.
- Operational breadth. Inventory and transport modules exist in ilmify. A large institution running buses and a stockroom may want that under one roof.
Where MaktabPro is stronger
- A genuinely free start. MaktabPro's Tutor plan is free for up to 25 students — no card, no trial clock. ilmify offers a no-card trial, but its per-student plans require a minimum of 50 students, which doesn't suit a small weekend maktab or a single teacher. If you're small, MaktabPro lets you run for real, for free.
- Transparent pricing in rupees. MaktabPro's plans are published in INR and scale by student bands (free Tutor → Academy → School). For India-based madrasas, pricing in your own currency with no per-head surprises is easier to budget.
- Simplicity and speed. Breadth has a cost: more modules mean more to learn. MaktabPro is deliberately focused on the things a madrasa uses every day — attendance, Hifz, fees, exams, parents — so a teacher can be productive in the first lesson, not after a training session.
- A built-in public website. Every MaktabPro madrasa gets a shareable public page out of the box — useful for admissions and credibility — without building a separate site. ilmify doesn't offer this.
Pricing, side by side
| MaktabPro | ilmify | |
|---|---|---|
| Free tier | ✅ Up to 25 students | Free trial (no card) |
| Entry paid plan | INR plan (Academy, up to 250 students) | $35/mo institute, or $1/student/mo (50+ students) |
| Higher plan | School plan (unlimited, multi-branch) | $70/mo institute, or $3/student/mo (50+ students) |
| Currency | INR | USD |
| Per-student minimum | None | 50 students for per-student plans |

The headline difference: MaktabPro is built so a tiny madrasa can run free, while ilmify's per-student pricing is aimed at institutions of 50+ students. For a growing madrasa, the honest question is what you'll pay at 150 students — compare both on the tier you'll actually be on in a year.
Hifz tracking: a closer look
This is the feature that matters most in a madrasa, and — credit where it's due — both products do it properly. Both track the three streams of memorisation: Sabaq (today's new lesson), Sabqi (recent revision), and Manzil / Dhor (long-term revision). If you're unsure why all three matter, our Sabaq, Sabqi and Manzil explainer walks through it.
So on Hifz itself, this isn't where the decision is made — both are competent. The decision comes down to the surrounding trade-off: ilmify's extra spiritual-development modules versus MaktabPro's simpler, free-to-start, rupee-priced approach.
The verdict
There's no single winner — there's a winner for your situation:
- Small or mid-sized madrasa, want free + simple + INR pricing + a public page: MaktabPro.
- Large institution, want Tarbiyah/Salah tracking, many languages, and transport/ inventory today: ilmify.
If you're somewhere in the middle, the cheapest way to decide is to try the free option and see which one your teachers actually enjoy using — because the system that gets used is the one that helps.
Try MaktabPro free. Set up your madrasa, add a class, and log a Hifz lesson in under ten minutes — free for up to 25 students, no card needed.
